What this product is

LastDevOps Applicant is a self-serve AI mock interview for DevOps interview preparation. You can create an account and take one free interview. Full access to the rest of the platform is turned on by us.

AI scores and feedback are formative learning aids for you. They are not used to hire, reject, admit, rank, or certify anyone. We do not sell this product to employers, bootcamps, schools, or other organisations for selection or grading.

You are interacting with AI

Practice calls, live mocks, applied-job round mocks, course placement interviews, and live coding sessions are conversations with an AI interviewer, not a human. During a call we show a persistent notice: You are talking to an AI. This voice is AI-generated.

The interviewer voice is synthetic audio generated by Google Gemini Live. xAI Grok Voice runs only when an admin selects it for a call. Your browser streams microphone audio to that provider for the live conversation and transcription. We do not store the live PCM.

AI-generated text

After a call, Anthropic Claude grades the transcript. xAI Grok grades a session only when an admin selects it. For one-question practice, theme live mocks, and live coding, feedback lists the points you covered in green and the points you missed or only skimmed in red or orange, depending on how important the point is. Course placement interviews list covered stages and gaps the same way. Those gaps also personalize lab tasks. Live coding sessions also receive a code review against the challenge definition of done, using your transcript and pushed file snapshots. For applied-job round mocks, feedback is cue-based (mentioned / not mentioned) with rewritten example answers and review of questions you asked the interviewer — no level grade. When you create an applied job, Claude may use web search on proven interview-report sites to build frozen rounds from the stored job description; we also compress optional job text into a short vacancy brief.

Those topic lists, briefs, and written feedback are AI-generated. They can be wrong or incomplete. We label them as AI-generated in the app and mark them as artificially generated in your data export.

What we do not do

We do not use emotion recognition. We grade the content of what you said, not accent, affect, or delivery.
We do not use biometric categorisation or identify you across other services from your voice.
We do not make decisions with legal or similarly significant effects about employment, admission, or certification.
LastDevOps does not train its own foundation models on your data.

Providers we use

Google Gemini — live interviewer voice, conversation, and transcription.
xAI Grok — live interviewer voice or post-call grading, only when an admin selects it for that call.
Anthropic Claude — assessment topic lists, vacancy briefs, and post-call grading.

Google and Anthropic provide general-purpose AI models. LastDevOps provides this interview-practice system under its own name, with our prompts and grading scheme. Machine-readable marking of live synthetic audio follows those providers' technical measures where they implement them. We add human-readable labels in the product and machine-readable flags in JSON exports.

Your choices

You must consent in the app before a practice call, live mock, or live coding session. You can delete individual answers or your account in Settings → Privacy when signed in, or email privacy@lastdevops.com.
